The Confederate Cemetery is located in San Antonio, Texas in an area where most older city cemeteries are found. The cemetery is designated as a part of San Antonio City Cemetery #4, Sections 3 & 4.
Google Maps does not identify the area, but the historical marker is located at 29° 25.237′ N, 98° 27.836′ W.
From I-35 North
To get there from I-35 North (from Austin), travel towards downtown San Antonio, take exit 159-A, North New Braunfels, and turn Left (away from Ft. Sam Houston.
Go approximately 1 mile.
Turn right on Paso Hondo street and go to the end of the block.
Turn Left onto N. Palmetto. You are in the City Cemetery area.
Turn Left at the first gate entrance on your left. This will be a gravel road, and you will see a circle with at U.S. flag. Continue past this circle and about 1/2 block you will see the Confederate Flag and Historical Marker on your left.
There is a street sign, “Jeff Davis Walk”. You are at the west boundary of the cemetery.
From I-37 or 281
Take the Commerce Street Exit (exit #141A from the North or exit #141 from the South).
Turn East on Commerce Street – away from downtown and toward Sunset Station and the Alamo Dome.
Travel approximately one mile on E. Commerce Street, and turn left at N. Palmetto.
Turn left at the first entrance into the cemetery. You will now be on gravel roads.
Drive to the circle with the U.S. flag, and continue about 1/2 block further until you see the Confederate Flag and Historical Marker on your left.
There is a street sign – “Jeff Davis Walk”. You are at the west boundary of the cemetery.
